Just a quick post here today : wanted to share some of my recent Dog Photography and Tessa’s Summer Portrait. If you don’t know already, Tessa is my Rottweiler. You’ve probably seen her before in my dog photography gallery…. she’s a professional model 🙂
I’ve found the most MAGICAL place…. and I wanted to take her there. I love how the grass comes up between the rocks, and the green bushes and ferns everywhere. I always see pretty butterflies floating around when I’m there… It almost feels like a dream.
In addition to looking totally magical and dreamy, it’s never too crowded and very quiet, which is what I need for a dog like Tessa. She’s naturally pretty shy and calm….. in fact she sat there and hardly moved the entire session…. but being able to let her off her leash without worrying about other dogs or people invading our portrait session was important to me.
I like this picture because this look is totally Tessa. I usually like dogs to perk their ears a bit, but Tessa hardly ever does. She’s very calm and relaxed. This is exactly how she looks most of the day, every day.
I added a slight texture to the top of the image, to enhance the overall appeal and give it more of a fine art appeal, which is characteristic of my Classique Portrait line.
The plan is to print this on fine art paper and then mat and frame. My consideration at this point is around a 24 x 36 or 30 x 40. A big dog like Tessa deserves a lot of wall space.
Hope you enjoy her portrait, and if you are considering the most magical portrait for yourself and your furry friend, feel free to drop me a note and let’s chat.
